I while ago I did something similar in http://www.photography.ca/Forums/photoshop-graphics-programs-pluggins-photography/21212-bringing-history-life.html. I really enjoy the process in Photoshop too and it is surprisingly easy to get reasonable results. I havent revsited this for quite a while. I have recently bought a wacom tablet, so the next time I am looking for something to do I may visit Flickr commons and find a photo to colour in :)

cool - In your example, you start off w/a colour image. Imo, better to convert it to BW first
