Well the new year has well and truly started and I have commenced a new project.

I found when doing my "windows" project a few years ago that it forced me to get out shooting. As a result, I felt that in addition to the window photos, being out and about meant that I also managed to get a number of other photos that I otherwise would not have taken. I also felt the regularity meant my photography improved during this time as well.

So it is time to take on a commitment again.

This time the theme is Walls - Fences - Floor - Ground. The intention is take 365 photos this year. Normally a 365 project is done by taking 1 photo every day for the year. I do not intend to be this ambitious, however will still aim for 7 per week. In addition I am also planning to make them all 2:3 landscape orientation and all in black and white. It will no doubt be difficult to keep them all interesting, especially when I go back to work after my summer holidays, but I will see how I go.

I am more than happy to post the photos here, but also appreciate that 365 photos would make for a long thread. Let me know if you would like me to post the photos here on this thread (otherwise I wont).

I have set up a wix webpage to show these photos if you wish to follow my progress.

Is anyone else contemplating a 52 or 365 project?

I'm in favor of you posting here, in as many threads as you please. It's convenient as I follow this forum regularly, so I won't miss your posts. I greatly admire your resolve and definitely look forward to seeing your photos. You need to up the shutter count in that 5DIV for sure. From what I've seen so far, you are getting good mileage from your investment.

Thanks Mike. I will keep that in mind and see what others think. Even if it isnt all of the photos, maybe I will post a few of my favourites every now and then.

As for admiring my resolve, lets first wait for a few months to see if I am still going. 365 feels rather daunting just at the moment, but I suppose it is called a challenge for a reason. I am hopeful that the reward will come me having to push beyond the obvious and having to really think hard and remain disciplined to make 365 images. If it were easy, I wouldn't improve and it wouldn't be worth doing.
