If you think a bit deeper than the obvious, I feel this makes a statement about modern communication. i.e. where 2 people in close proximity use technology to communicate, rather than just talk to each other directly

Cool. You caught my 1G networking joke. It appears that it isn't just modern times that there was an issue with communications between people. It's just way worse now with cell phones.
