Every fall the City of Oakville has an open juryied photo competition (run by my camera club) called Capture Oakville. They have decided to move it to the spring, In it place they are having a similar competition but closed to only club members. Chosen images will be on display in the gallery of the cultural centre for several months. My my two entries have been chosen to be on display. Winners will be chosen by public voting at a Gala this friday.

Attached are my entries for the two categories B&W and Colour

A little critique:

The BW seems a little flat. I was thinking the antenna needed to be center of the opening, but the tower wouldn’t have been, like it is, so nice composition.

I really like the color. My only little bit is the tiny cluster of leaves by themselves at top center, and the entire cluster on the right side. I’d clone both of these out.

I did just notice the light pole growing out of his head.

Thanks for your analysis AT. You have some very valid points

BW
- It is not as flat when viewed in Lightroom. I always loose contrast/quality when I export it to jpeg for the forum. The print that was made from an exported tiff file looks fine.
- I agree the antennae/flagpole is bothersome. I wonder if I should have cloned it out

Colour
- I agree about the cluster of leaves on the right. It looks better cloned out.
- Oh my goodness, I never noticed the light pole out of the guy's head.

Runmonty - I will give you an update after the voting.

looks great. Printing and framing makes such a difference compared to just on the monitor.
