A lock on the Severn waterway uses this marine railway to move boats across this difference in height of approx 60ft.

I find locks fascinating.

It is interesting to see this one on rails and dry too.

I wonder how vessels without a flat hull get on?

I have no idea how vessels without a flat hull use this. It's not a very busy time of year and obviously worse during this virus. This was the only boat I saw in the time I was there.

Runmonty ... I figured out how vessels without a flat hull get on. If you see the yellow stripes on the sides in pics 4 and 5. These are slings that go under the boat.
