I may come across as a bit daft here, but would someone please help me withuloading images from flickr onto this site? I just signed up an account and downloaded and edited some photos and can't seem to get them onto here. I submited the URL address in the manage attachments "upload from a URL" , I hit upload and it keeps telling me I have an invalid file.
Not sure what to do at this point....help

I don't know if this is the best way but it works for me.
First open your target Flickr page.
Copy the the url from the address bar.
Go back to this site and fill in your message and type a link title ie "Snow storm".
Hilight the title and click the link icon (the globe with the chain)
Paste in the url you copied
Preview the post to test it.
If you like what you see submit reply and your done!

cheers

You need to use your [img][/img ] BBcode. Also technically according to flickr rules you should link back to the original page so you need to do a hyperlink. So from the page with the photo you want to use, copy the address. It will look something like this:

http://www.farm4.static.flickr.com/3556/3375431429_883de6715b_b.jpg

Insert that between the img code[img][/img ] like so:

[img ]http://www.farm4.static.flickr.com/3556/3375431429_883de6715b_b.jpg[/img ]

(*note* do not put the space in the bracket. That is just so it will show up here.)

Then you go back to the original page of photo and copy and paste the address from the address bar which looks like this:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/jas_photos/3375431429/

A hyper link looks like this: [ url= http://www.Address of original page goes here [img ] http://Address of photo goes here[/img ] [/url ]

Altogether it looks like this:

[url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/jas_photos/3375431429/][img]http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3556/3375431429_883de6715b_b.jpg[/img ][/url ]

Do not put the spaces in the brackets, that is just to show the code. I know this may seem complicated but it is not really. Just open a window for Flickr and one for this forum and copy back and forth and it is all good. Flick provides a hyper link but it is in html and the forum uses BB code only. Hope this makes sense to you.
