Then you would vote 'other' wouldn't you?
OR ... if you already have your mind made up on what DSLR you will get soon ... vote that. ;)

The first hurdle is trying to work out why I can't see anything when I look through the big round light hole in the front....

Don't worry ... I'm not a brand person. I use Canon now but that's just because they offered the best deal at the time when I bought my first DSLR. I could easily have been a Nikon or Pentax user also as these are brands I trusted when I was into SLR years ago.

I'm surprised to see more Nikon users than Canon. Not for any reason other than I thought it would the other way around. I don't really care what sort of DSLR people use. :)

Lol, I love my Nikon! I always admired them but it is not because I think they are better than other cameras or that they will magically transform me into a better photographer. (Prays to the Nikon gods for that). http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y29/Sparkle2/Smilies/smileygum.gif

Me too. Certainly when I see DSLRs here in Brisbane, I'd say it is 4:1 Canon, but maybe I just notice the Canon more.

Either do I, we need them all to keep pushing each other so we get great gear at reasonable prices. It seems lately Canon and Nikon leapfrog each other with each release. Sony, Olympus and Pentax have solid offerings too.

I agree - I thought canon would win based on what i see when I'm with other photogs...all good though - one is not better than the other imo.

Two days ago, I was holding a Canon 40D, and I start like it. Until now, Nikon was No1, I don't know why I didn't want to consider Canon, but I start changing my mind.
But again, comparing the lens prices between Canon, Nikon and Olympus, Olympus is more affordable than the others too, and the quality, as the professionals says, is amazing.
Btw, I finally updated my firmware on my camera, so camera is ok, not broken as I thought :wall-an:
The software was the problem. The original software from E 500 it wasn't compatible with the latest OS (Vista or Leopard), and the new Olympus Master 2 update the firmware.
