This is a really cool shot. Nice job. Nice effect with the colours.
As you may know though, I'm a cropper. I think this shot would be even stronger if you crop the right side just past the anchor icon on the larger red boat. That's just my taste though. It gives it a stronger feeling of pattern.

Yes, I certainly agree. That works much better.

Thanks

Both shots are impressive but I do like the cropped image better. I really like this effect Tegan, would you mind sharing how this was done?

Thanks!

Well, here is the original. I used the Nik Colour solarization filter. There were six different methods of solarization and I picked number 2. Solarization basically goes to the opposite colour with the methods staying within the warm or cool colour temperatures. Time lapse can be adjusted for the strength of the effect and contrast. I adjusted until I got the colours I wanted and reduced the usual strong level of contrast. I then went back into Photoshop and put more blue into the water.

Thanks so much for explaining how that was done!

I brightened up the image for a little more punch.

Sometimes you just don't know how a boost in contrast will help an image until you try it. Although I really liked the first shot the way it was, this extra brightness does work better (for me anyway) and ads that extra punch!

Nice effect! Looks very good and the extra brightness works.

Thanks Marko and Gibbon. Your suggestions are always helpful to get me looking more closely at my images.
