Thought I would try practising with fruit instead of flowers today.
I thought the colours of dragonfruit would work...any comments?

Thanks :)

Good composition here.
My main comments for improvement would be that the background looks livelier than the fruit. IMO - should be the other way around or at least equal in liveliness which could have been accomplished with more light on the fruit.

The fruit itself could also be considerably sharper; right now the rind is the sharpest element and it's somewhat oversaturated on my monitor.
Hope that helps

I like the color combination but the bg is quite bright. If you are using natural light or even if you use a diffused flash you can pop the light back unto the subject using a reflector. I just use a piece of cardboard covered with the dull side of aluminum foil. If that gives too much shine then plain white cardboard. The fun thing about digital cameras is you get instant feedback. It sure makes the learning curve faster and a lot less expensive. The rind color looks right to me on my laptop but I sometimes have trouble telling if things are too bright or not on here.

Ha Ha! When I read dragonfruit, I knew it would be you as it is not common outside of the restaurant enviroment. :)

I would like bg of one (just a tad darker) with fruit of 2!

Making me hungry!

Here's a few more attempts...I lowered the saturation in PP...

Lol I cant believe its called dragonfruit. It is such an oddlooking cactuslike thing that tastes nothing, yet you put some colorful background into it heheh...
