Dad(Mad Aussie) and I have been frog hunting (and hunting for any other interesting night creatures) while I have been visiting :fingerscr. Tonight my Mum found a frog in our backyard, they seem to like our trees. Here's a couple of photo's of the frog she found for me.

Nice work - I especially like #1. As marko mentioned, the focus is bang on; I find though that the composition of #2 is not as strong as #1 because you're seeing more of his back and side, rather than concentrating on the face.

Nice! I agree about #1 being the stronger composition. Great expression on his face too!

 That little guy was sooo active! At first we couldn't get him to sit still. He kept jumping onto LeAngel at first "save me ... save me" .... then when I was taking a couple he chose Chantelle. Eventually I figured if I shone a nice bright light in his face he wouldn't be able to see and would settle .... it worked :) Deer in the headlights tactic! This one was about 40mm (a little under 2 inches) long.

I was surprised at how sharp I got those eyes on that first photo. Proud of myself! If I could ask the frog to smile and he would actually obey, I would. :p

Actually I have loved frogs since I was a young kid, always went hunting for them and brought them into the house to show my parents. Wanted one or two or more for pets. They are just fasinating creatures.

U know here we have these giant bullfrogs that are over 12 inches long including their legs. They are ferocious animals and will try eating just about anything that fits into their mouth. During the warm months while they feed, I am usually fishing for largemouth bass using a rubber worm. It turns out, the bullfrogs particularly enjoy the worm as well and I usually catch a dozen or so frogs while fishing the bulrush and pads. After you get them off the hook and set them on the ground, the dogs go crazy. With one giant leap they are back in the water, but the dogs follow suit trying to find the frog. It never works.

They look almost exactly like these guys except there are no pads on their feet. They have really pointy toes and LOTS of webbing in between. Their eyes are like crocodile eyes as well. They do not face forward, rather on top and out to get a 360 degree view of the world while they hang out in the water. Ill catch one and take a picture of it for the forum this summer.

Awesome JJ. Take at least that clearly shows the size of them too. It's funny how something so common to ourselves can interest others in another culture.
