Loved by many, loathed by others. Steve Irwin was certainly a character unto his own. His charismatic and outlandish personality was often considered showmanship but those who knew him well tell us that what you saw on TV of Steve, was what you got and who he was 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Right down to the khaki shirt and shorts.
He was one of the animals best friends in this world and hopefully his legacy will continue to fight for animals that need help for a very long time after his passing.

These are a couple of shots of a bronze statue tribute to Steve ...

I have to admit, I wasn't his biggest fan (an understatement, really) but these are nice shots. I like the second. It seems more real :)

I knew a guy who surfed with Steve on the Sunshine Coast and he reckoned that surfing was the only time he was quiet ... unless he was on a wave or saw a turtle or something.
Other than that they say in private he was much the same as what we saw on TV.
He had passion ... nobody can deny that.

His daughter Bindi is a deadset, carbon copy of her father and pretty much has the same fan base I think. Some love her and others loathe her already. I think she's an amazing child and can't believe how well she handles everything she has to do at her age. Steve may be gone but his spirit most definitely lives on in her.

I think Steve did some great things for exposing the world to the wonders of nature. I always got a kick out of him, thought he was totally nuts sometimes. He had passion and if we could put that same passion into our photography.............
