While walking through our local botanical garden recently, I saw this one white tulip in the middle of a bed of dark reds. The contrast in color really caught my eye. I played with the idea of having the white petals fully uncovered, but settled for a peek-a-boo perspective. Does it work for any of you?

I think the composition would be better if we could see the entire white flower. You are hiding part of your motive, in my opinion.
^^^ What he said! That flower in the very front shouldn't be there. :) Very pretty white flower though.

Exactly what they said composition wise. Nice detail in the white flower!

agree with them. but what i like is the white flower is very sharp and the square format presentation.

I really like your thinking here and understand what you are going for ... and I really want to say it works for me. But in the end the white flower is just too much the subject here and somehow hiding part of it just doesn't seem to work. At least not hiding the bottom of the flower. Perhaps hiding only a small portion of the bottom and/or part of one side might do it?
The photo is nicely exposed though!
