Saw Cavalia (http://cavalia.net) last night. Pretty good for adults but better for kids imo.

Firefox has been acting up lately, so I just downloaded and installed Chrome right now. It's okay, I guess. But I can't find the bookmarks menu, lol.

Glad to hear someone else had a good day. The golf club I work at actually cut everyone's pay by 7%. Kind of a bummer but its nice to know I still have a job. Time to start picking up some side jobs to make up for the lost pay. This means less time for photography.ca Its all good though. Ill still be reading and posting, just not as frequently as the past.

Sorry to hear that JJ. I've been seeing this more and more from our american forum pals. I hope things turn around!

No big loss really. The side jobs that I will be picking up will more than make up for what Im losing. In all reality it is what I should have been doing in the first place so I really am not too bothered by it. It just means less play time. No point in letting money slip through your fingers, make it while you can.

People with car alarms that are too stupid to turn them off should be tied to a chair for 48 hours with headphones on that constantly play their damn alarm so they can really enjoy the experience. Am I bitter ... nah couldn't be.

Good morning. Poor Greg_Nuspel, seems to me you've had a short night? ;-) I don't need any car alarm for that. I woke up at 4.30 o'clock and now I am waiting for my neighbour friend to go for a fine long jogging trip.

Hmmm, that’s a bummer. Peaches and plumbs are getting ripe, song birds are starting their second broods, humming birds at the feeder, and the kids are swimming.

No snow in the forecast here.

My random thought for this week (or is this only a what's your weather thread?)...
I need a new computer, my AMD 64 X2 3800 with 2 gb RAM and 256 mb dedicated video is sucking so bad for image processing/sorting/editing. I just don't have the patience for that click and wait game. Almost everything I do in Lightroom 2.2 is verging on freezing the program. I could upgrade RAM but why bother when processor is so slow?
I'm drooling over a Dell i7 Studio XPS desktop with like 6 - 8 gb RAM and their 24" Ultrasharp Monitor. With current promotional discounts about CA$1500. But I lost a big sale last week and have to punish myself with restraint. Must... stop... spending... money... on... photography... stuff

Oh I hear you there....I can't walk past The Camera Store anymore without dropping at least $100...funny it used to be Mountain Equipment Co-op that was my Achilles heel now I can walk past there no problem and it's only1 block from TCS.
Anybody else have stores like that? Y'know, those stores that beg and call you and you can't walk in then out without a bag of stuff and lighter wallet?
My other one is IKEA :wall-an:

I can't walk past MEC, The Camera Store, Memory Express, K&W Audio, any record swap,......damn I best stay home :-)

Well one thing that helps the impulse buying urges...and forgive me for ranting all negative again here...is that so many stores- not just photo/electronic- are so poorly run they rarely have what I want in stock. Are you listening Vistek, home of no monopod heads? And how about you Home Depot? Not one of 5 different advertised garden sprayers in stock in spring? Canadian Tire? Not a single kids sled or decent snow shovel in stock in the first month of winter? Hell-o? One Home Depot clerk told me the manufacturers only give them so much....hmmmm, yeah we're in a major economic recession so I guess they want to horde inventory or limit sales.

Heading to Toronto in August with stops in Montreal, Ottawa, Niagara Falls, and Quebec City (not necessarily in that order ;) ). Any suggestions of good places to shoot, stay, eat? Thinking about booking through Hotwire. Any one ever use them?

Current plans include taking the family to Canada's Wonderland, Marineland, CN Tower, Toronto Zoo and taking myself to my Honbu dojo (head karate club in Canada for my style)

No suggestions? I thought you would have some hotspots in Montreal, Marko. Or did this thread just get missed because I buried it in the "Random Thread".

I'm guessing you already know that the tall ships will be in your "home town" next month. We'll have them in Charleston this month. Can't wait.
