I would like to see this in a frame on my wall :).

Pretty photo! I like how the colors of the bird are repeated in the tree trunk.

this is a beautiful picture. I agree with the comment that it would be nice in a frame on my wall. If I were you I would submit to a bird book or website as a photo. it definitely is better then most I have seen.

:highfive:

Beautiful. The only change I would make would be to get rid of that stray leaf. Great capture.

I like the leaf. :)

I like this shot for the reasons mentioned above too and I think I'd leave the leaf.

My only suggestion is that the trunk has a bluish cast to my eye and I'd try to reduce it.
Hope that helps
Marko

Thanks to all for your comments and suggestions. I have made what I hope you'll find improvements in this image.

I decided that the leaf was a distraction and so it is gone, as are the chipped places in the bark (for the same reason). I think I have eliminated the color cast.

Once again, thanks.

Very nice photo, love the colurs on the bird! The first photo does have a blue cast, but the second one now has a bit of a green caston the tree/log, able to take the green out a bit?

Does anyone else see a green cast? I don't see it on my display (but I am not implying that it isn't there). The lichens are a yellow-green hue.

I tried applying Marko's techniques from the color cast podcast. Very useful, as so many of his podcasts are.

My display is calibrated; it's my eyes/brain that need calibrating now. The Spyder doesn't seem to fit and I can't get the software to install. Hey Marko! Any suggestions for that?

It could be my screen, I wouldn't be surprised if it is. so if no one else can see it, ignore me :P It's not a major green cast, more like the moss on the log is a bit too green where as the first photo it was more of a yellow colour.
