View Full Version : DUTO Dragon

Picked up a new filter today, a DUTO by Kenco it was only ten bucks. It's supposed to leave the center of the image clear while softening toward the edges. I'm sure this type of shot is not what the filter makers had in mind but it remids me of a filter I would like to use in video work to give more of a filmic look. Perhaps it is better suited to portrait work. Normally this would have been a tack sharp image from the 70-300 lens. I really can't decide if I like the look here or not.

I used to do this years ago with my SLR. I'd stretch one of my wife's stockings over the lens and snip a hole in the centre. Great for those sexy shots. I'd show you some but she'd kill me if I did! :headslap:

Hmm..still liking the second. I think it would be a great filter as you say for certain shots. If you are anything like me..keep playing :)

I like the play here but I'm with Kat, for this particular insect the shot without the filter is better imo.

The filter doesn't work in this case, I like the sharp image best. I think soft images work for a dreamy surreal type of shot.
