Nice indeed ... and different.

Was the blue colour for real or have you changed the flowers real colour to blue?

Nicely done. Did you enhance the blue in post, or is it a result of one of the in camera "picture controls"? I'm also curious if Capture NX2 is shipped with the D300. It would be a shame if it wasn't and you might consider it if you don't have it already.

Hi Barefoot, Thank you and it was done in post in LightRoom. Capture NX2 is incluc
ded but I like th e the LightRoom/Photoshop Elements combo although I am still learning them. I shoot everything raw and generally use auto white balance.

I use the Lightroom/PSE7 combo as well, but everything begins with opening the NEF in NX2. Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) can’t touch NX2 in terms of raw development even if nothing more than lens correction and sharpening is done. For local adjustments the “U-Point Technology” in NX2 is nothing short of phenomenal and if you spring for the Silver and Color Efex plugins (both of which work just fine in PSE7) the possibilities are unlimited.

Travel over to this link to see how Scott Kelby and his buddy Matt set up a brand new Nikon right out of the box. There are other informative episodes as well including one on the use of Picture Controls.
