Hi,
This is a very HUGE reclining Buddha in Bangkok. As you can see, I was focusing on the feel to show the engraving details while blurring out the Buddha's head.
Comments/suggestions please,
Jay

While I understand your intent here, I'm not sure that it was the approach I would have taken. I think it might have made a much more powerful image were the head/face area sharply focused and exposed. The scroll work is interesting, but the softly focused head in the background seems just a bit eerie to me.
I like the idea. I can totally see what you are trying to do and you did do it. I think the scrolls, to my eye, aren't all totally in focus (they could be sharper).
Did you try the reverse as tirediron mentioned?

If you're not against "large adjustments" and some are, i'd suggest cloning out the window/door. I find it a bit distracting, try covering it with your hand.
Next time you're in Bangkok take me with you.

Kat,
I did not try the reverse. Somehow, I always think that the object closer to me should be in focus. Just never occur to me to try the other way around, until now... =)
Yeah, somehow the scroll is not as sharp as I thought to be...
