So I'm finally getting to the the shots I took when I went to Newfoundland. I have loads in mixed categories, but I'd like to post them all in this one thread. First day was all about cats in St. Johns. The windows and doors are super interesting in St. John's and for some reason on this one day, many cats were loungin' by the window.

Here's a shot of my wife and a really friendly cat that came to greet us.

Nice set. Interesting how you were able to get a group like that. The cats must have heard you were in town and vying for an opportunity to work on their portfolios! ;)

Cool set. I especilly like the cat hanging its head out the window in shot 1, and the one with your wife.

Lord thunderin, didn't expect all the kitties from a newfie set! :p Where are the moose!!??

Nice! Like them all but favor the third one. Just love the eyes and that window.

Hope you had a wonderful time!

Thanks all - On a second look, I think the first 3 could use a slight contrast boost as i lost some meat from raw to jpg.

It sucks but I saw no moose. I got birds comin' though..

Great, colorful series. Love the old architecture especially. I like the first cat the best. His little head sticking out the window is just classic!

Signs that make immature photographers smile...especially the first sign. For days my wife had to endure me saying in my best Newfy accent "Cheeks and tongues, get your cheeks and tongues here, fresh cheeks and tongues"

Shot 1 - Dildo harbour - Shot 2 Bonavista scene - Shot 3 Bonavista dock seating. BTW - Bonavista is easily one of the most beautiful places in all of Newfoundland.

Dear lord..that is what my parents say when they are "upset"..lol.

Lord Thunderin' ended up being mine as well due to those influences. Also, from time to time, I find myself saying my mother's curse words: "Jumped up knock-kneed paratoad". I guess that was better to say around the kids then f*(}K #*(&$(&$ ;)

Isn't it supposed to sound like "Lard tunderin' Jeeeeezuss Bye!"
That's for MA..
If you were to put in a "Newfie Speak Generator". I believe the correct English input would be "Oh my dear goodness....I can't believe it!"
Isn't there also a town called Spread Eagle?
I have a friend from Ramea too..lol :)

Great series Marko...love the colours of the houses...and the little villages!
Let's see more!! :highfive:

3 Shots from Trinity Newfoundland. What a quaint little place created by the prov. government purely for the tourists. A few hundred people live there in the summer but only around FORTY people live there during the winter.

Shot 1 - Convenience store man dressed in traditional garb
Shot 2 - Trinity house on the hill
Shot 3 - Trinity dock scene

Twillingate Newfoundland - was HIGH on one of my favourite places in the whole province. It's famous for icebergs.

Really nice additions to the set, Marko. :highfive: I like these very much.

Number one seems like such a comfortable pose and wonderful lighting. Number 2 reminds me of Little House on the Prairie ;) And number 3 is just a perfect example of the Maritime Provinces.

I particularly like the abstractedness of the second photo in post #58 . It reminds me of a William Morris fabric design. The rocks and lichen in the above post are also rather cool looking abstracts.
