This is a challenge to all who are interested. TT just had a bit of fun with one of my photos and I like what was done with it. I took this one today and I have a vision of what I'd like to do but I don't have the skills. Anyone want to take a crack at it?

My vision is that the foreground could be b&w and the view of the yard could be a nice saturated lush view. I'm not sure I captured enough of the yard though so tell me if it's a waste of time. Maybe the shots not worth doing any PP on.

Here's a link to the RAW image: http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/1068102/IMG_4407.CR2

Here's a sample using Picasa's Focal B&W Filter

That was Canon Raw. Picasa just opens them. I don't even remember installing any Canon software. No matter, here's the JPG: http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/1068102/IMG_4407-1.jpg

And a softer version ...

Man that took a lot of time ... very, very finicky work indeed.

Excellent. That was my idea. I think I need more of a focal point in the colour zone though. I may have to go back and sneak a peek in that person's yard again ;)

Sorry it was so much work.

Good result MA. Funny to me the first one looks softer. Boths shots are significantly sharper than the original or is that from compression or treatment on the original?

Actually you are right Antz ... I did put the softer version up first.

It was ok Iggy ... if I didn't want to do it I wouldn't have :)

The original is 120K export from Picasa and uploaded as an attachment.

MA's are 260+K uploads to Photobucket.
