Busy sorting through all our photos and came across this one.

It's from a trip to New Zealand's South Island back in 1996.

I thought some of you might find it interesting to see what Allyce (featured in some of my photos), Chantelle (member here and also featured in some of my photos) and myself looked like some 13 years ago.

We had left home for the airport the afternoon before and the flight was cancelled due to a fuel truck ramming the plane's engine.
After much bitching they put us up in a hotel room for the night and got us on a flight at 2am. We arrived in Christchurch, NZ at about 6am or something and hit the road in a hire car (shown) at about 8.30am.
This photo was taken late afternoon after driving all day through the center of the island and was the first snow the girls had ever seen.
We stopped so they could check it out and I could try to wake up a bit more. Lack of sleep was really getting to me by now and we still had about 4 hours drive to go.
As a side note ... while we stayed in the hotel ... our house was broken into and robbed. And the bank lost our holiday savings. By about 10am the next morning we were wondering why the hell we had come. The bank found our money after a day or so and my dad and neighbours had the robbery thing under control ... and we had the most awesome 4 weeks of holiday in NZ.

In your post you mentioned your Dad and I haven't seen an update on his health in some time, now. How's he doing?

Thanks for asking. I'll add an update to that thread about him now you've asked when I get a moment.

Who's that handsome man? Not sure. Used to live with my wife I think but got replaced by some old fat ******* :headslap:

Thanks Antz. It's actually an old negative scan as the photos themselves are dying badly, actually so were the negs. Hence the quality or lack thereof.

Silly, MA - denial is not a river in Egypt. embrace your age and all of the experiences that took you to this point. as i tell my kids at school who make fun of my grey hair - i earned them - and proudly call it my sparkley hair!

Thanks Kat.

There's a song about that TT. "Call me Cleopatra ... the Queen of Denial. "

Did you do your own negative scans?

Funny, my mum always likes to tell the story of how people commented that she had 3 little beautiful babies with 3 little round happy faces! Kinda like this...-------> :)

Now I'm almost through our more modern shots ... finishing scanning our old ones from albums is next. Then it's doing what I can to save those worth saving. Long process but good to see the old shots that have been hidden away so long now. Digital cameras killed the tangible photo album in our house somewhat.
