Thanks Raiven for the link, I normally use CS4 with the NEF extension but it's nice to be able to open these files in Windows on occasion.

Thought I would pop this up for the Nikonians. I, however, had to go find another code as this one does not support Windows 7 64bit. It seems Nikon has no intention of updating the codec to support the 64bit system in the near future either. But do not despair all is not lost. Check here:

If you you use Lightroom or another photo editing program, you do not necessarily need it but it does allow you to look at a raw file in Windows. I also have some Nef. files on my backup hard drive and I can look at them quickly without having to open them in photoshop or LR.
