I would say: Very good start into the Macro scene. Love the colours here and the depth of clearance.

I like this one! To make it sing louder i might suggest a harder burn on the top edge and a hint of a contrast boost and sharpen boost on the main flower at right. And yup, GREAT start!
Hope that helps - Marko

Marko I'll have try that, since I haven't done any treatment to this shot. I had a lot of fun getting up close a personal with plants. It also made me look more at what was in my frame so this may be a great tool for me to slow down and observe. Something about filling the frame makes me pay more attention to the background, light, etc.

Very lovely color, bokeh and crispness on the near flower. Lol, I call it fiddly work but plants have infinite patience. :)

Nice shot.
But is this macro? Using a proper macro lens?
It looks more like close up to me using a longer zoom lens.

It's a 105mm Nikkor macro lens. So it is relatively long.

SO you should be able to get it much, much closer then right ;)

Yes but I liked what was happening with the background B word thing.

Ok makes sense now. I thought ... "he's taken a nice shot but you can do that with many lenses other than a macro lens ... someone needs to tell him to get the hell in closer!" :)
