Really nice casil. Wonderful scene and you've captured it well.

Just wondering though if lessening the strength in photomatix wouldn't have left just a hint of some shadows in there and give it a tad more depth?

Thanks MA....I will give it a go and see what happens.

I just thought the rocks on the lft bank and the tree at the far bend were a bit too bright and lacked the shadows needed to give them texture they need.

Minor tweaking as suggested by MA...Is this what you had in mind? :)

While I was working on the above, I also thought this might work as HDR also.

I imagine with all the strong wind we've been having the last couple of days the trees out there now are pretty much barren...supposed to get snow laterthis week too! :cry-an: :yuck: :headslap: :wall-an:

Just putting the two together for comparison ...

1st ..

2nd ...

No, not quite how I pictured the change. I think the 1st looks a bit more natural to me now. I think to get the look I was thinking of you would need to take the 1st shot and layer one of the original non hdr merge shots under it and blend through the areas that need adjustment.

Thanks for taking my suggestion seriously though Lisa.

I see what MA is talking about..I actually thought about that the first time I looked at the photo but didn't mention it because of where it was placed. Just wondering..how would they look if you did that merge thing and brought back a % of the original photo into those rocks. Not to good with that but MA may have a better idea if that would work.

Yep ...that's what I was talking about when I mentioned the layering ala my sharpening process more or less.

That's a bit beyond my skill set but if MA wants to have a go at it I'm more than happy to send the original. :)
