Too cold outside so I played with my idea of the last 3 days, while not stuffing my face. Here`s my rendering of my next panoramic head.

It`s fully computerized, so I just set the parameters and it goes through the sequence. I also can`t wait to do some true gigapixel shots with a 200mm.

No fully computerized means I tell it where to start and where to end, the focal length of the lens, percentage of overlap, bracketing if needed, and it will turn to each point fire the required shots and then to the next point until all the pictures have been taken. It will do complete 360-180 virtual reality shots like the para-glider one I posted a link to or gigapixel shots like this one (http://gigapixelphotography.com/vancouver-yaletown-condos). Just zoom in on that one and see all the detail.

Manufacturing will be CNC as well but that's just the boring crap.

I thought that's what you meant at first ... then thought naaaaaaah ... he couldn't mean that.

That's insane. Is this something you've seen done before or are you inventing this?

It's been done before, but I am working with a group in Europe that have the software figured out, but the hardware they were using sucked. Most of the good units like this cost $5-10K. So ours should be considerably less.

This one (http://www.yosemite-17-gigapixels.com/) is cool to but doesn't have the zoom feature but click on the red circles to see details.
