Ironworkers building a new skyscraper in downtown Calgary.... Part of my 100 strangers project...I decided to do it also. I wanted to give these photos a bit of a tough look representative of what they do for a living...hope I got it right!

If I do say so, Tom is pretty freakin' H-O-T! :p

okay it's these type of photos that inspire me. I just joined flickr to join the project. I figure it will help me to learn to take photos of people.

Hopefully mine can be as good as these!

I would like to introduce you to Jamie and Kirby....
Jamie and Kirby are from my 100 strangers project. Jamie and his pal Kirby were collecting bottles "from the weekend night shift" and maaaannn! they looked heavy!
Seeing Jamie with all those bottles, I asked him as we were walking if he had a bike. He didn't so I asked him if he wanted one to which he replied "Sure...as long as it's not stolen." I told him I had a spare mountain bike that was old but in really good conditionand belonged to my brother who passed away 15 years ago. i wasn't sure what to do with it until i saw jamie and all of sudden it occured to me that he should have it and would he like it after I pick it up on Saturday? He said yes. I am going to give it to him this weekend!

Jamie......

Kirby...he had a brother who also passed away...he had a grand mal seizure and a massive sudden brain hemmorage....he was only 34. He said even if EMT or a doctor was right standing there when it happened they couldn't have done a thing to help him as it was so sudden!

Great shots and great story as well Casil. Very nice of you to give your brothers old bike away to someone who needs it like that too.

Maybe you have found one of your life's callings here :)
