Many of you are probably familiar with Michael Vicks conviction for dog fighting. He served his time and then was promptly signed by the Eagles. On his first game he recieved a standing ovation.

I've been following the stories of some of the dogs rescued from his property. It's enough to break your heart.

Here's a more recent story:
Michael Vick's unpaid dues: Why dog advocates aren't moving on (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/g/a/2009/11/03/petscol110309.DTL&tsp=1#ixzz0VoVxhFQt)

So what happened to ethics in sport? Does it end when the time is served? It has not ended for all the dogs. those are the 'lucky ones'. And this happens all over North America. We cannot point fingers at other countries and bemoan how they treat animals until we clean up our own act.

there. rant over.

I know Bambi I think it's really pathetic how he is being treated. I watched a show on some of the dogs they rescued and the things that guy allowed to happen to those dogs is horrible! One female had all her teeth forcibly extracted and was repeatedly put in some kind of rack type contraption so she could be forcibly mated over and over

Ya know it's funny.....
Pete Rose was banned for a lifetime in baseball for simply gambling on the game yet there's all kinds of guys taking performance enhancing drugs and getting away with it.
Todd Bertuzzi ended a fellow hockey player's career with a dirty hit form behind and if that had happened outside the rink and on a streetcorner, he'd be in jail for aggravated assault most likely. Yet he still gets to play the game, collect a paycheck and the other guy whose career he ended gets to watch.

Makes me wonder what kind of message we're sending to our kids and future professional sports players.

That is sad. Anyone who can hire him on a reality show is even sadder.

Bertuzzi should of never went back on the ice. To this day I shut the tv off if he is on the ice.

That's not sad for me, that's just the way greedy TV execs with loose morals make a few bucks. It's the status quo.

What's truly sad for me are the tens of millions of people that will watch the show....it's too bad that enough people will watch absolutely anything. Really some people will watch the most inane stupid drivel day after day year after year. This show will be another beauty that they can add into their viewing schedules.

argggh! I SAID don't get me started:p

No disagreeing with you on that marko.

Everyday I feel the morals that was so stilled into me are just gone among most of the world.
