Hi,

Is there any special housing for protecting our camera from the rain or from the sea drops, and other threats?

Thanks a lot for your help,

Inés

Hi, Inés and welcome to the forum. The first thing you need to check is the specs. on your camera's protection by design. Some cameras for example are better sealed, have better gaskets around buttons etc. and are made of titanium or other substances that more protective from the elements.

Salt and water are certainly problematic. I shot in the pouring rain in an ocean area but instead of using my regular camera I used an adjustable pocket camera that I could pretty well protect with my hands. I also wear one of those Tilley hats with the wide brim and the camera has a viewfinder.

Aside from an underwater housing, I am not aware of a simple weather protection housing for a camera.

I think you are looking for something like this. I had looked into them before and still on my consideration list of things to get.

That is a great find AcadieLibre!

Although you can probably make something that will do the trick for far less, it's nice to see something that is custom made that isn't a fortune.

Thx!
