Some great photos of the LHC at Boston.com. Well it looks like they might actually get this thing working, it so far has been one big disappointment. I recall when they first announced it I was pretty happy because Governments usually don't spend this kind of money on such large science projects. It could still end up being useless, I hope not but they have yet to accomplish anything close to a Quark with the colliders currently in use now, I know they hope the ability to accelerate particles long and fast enough to get the results they theorize they should get. Quarks theoretically should exist but yet unproven and the LHC should help answer that question and hopefully many others. It is like the String theory they theorize with mathematical equations they should exist but yet unable to prove the theory with repeatable provable data. So once it gets going we may learn a ton of things and I hope they do because it will affect future scientific projects of this size and scope.

wow. those are great shots of a very impressive machine. I do hope that useful information is gained.

Well this is a bit of a shock, they have it operational, just hope during the testing phase they don't make any mistakes because this could lead to so much information.
