I had a major computer malfunction this weekend...not the computer itself, but something to do with the ISP provider and my wireless router. :wall-an: I had a friend come over and reconfigure it with the help of my ISP Support, but since then, I can't get photography.ca to come up. I've tried every browser on both computers and all I get is a page won't load or This link appears to be broken. I can get every other page to load except this one.
I don't know what is going on...I thought the website was down but know I am at school and it's something on my end...help? Suggestions...?
I can't figure it out?

Might be a DNS problem. Here you can find some more info about how to fix this:

Hope this helps... :)

Sounds like a DNS issue. RuleOfThirds should have been able to fix it when he was there for the draw or did you not do the draw yet?

Unless it's been going on for a long time now, it may have cleared itself once the DNS cache was cleared. If not, first thing to try is the router. Unplug it for a 15-20 seconds and then plug it back in. If that doesn't fix it, call your ISP. They should be able to solve this for you.

One item that I find works well to troubleshoot computer problems is to pop in a Linux live cd and boot from the CD drive instead of the hard drive. It can quickly point to whether an issue is Windows or hardware related or even help solve the above issue concerning Ebay password compromise. Yours is not a hardware issue but the live cd has saved my bacon countless times.
Ask Leo (http://ask-leo.com/why_can_i_not_access_certain_web_sites.html) website lists some of the issues that can cause you to not load certain sites Casil403. Hopefully your situation has been cured though.

Good luck,
Rob

Just to see if it is a DNS problem ( which probably it is ) Go to the address line on your browser (This is where you would type Fine art photography - Fine art photographers - Canadian and International - Photography.ca (http://www.photography.ca) ) and type the following sequence exactly sa it is : 74.55.158.150 followed by the Enter key.

This will get you to the photography.ca website and prove your problem is a DNS problem that your ISP should fix for you.

If it does not get you to the photography.ca website, you have another problem... but I doubt it since you say you can navigate to several other websites.

Good Luck !

Okay so I spent all afternoon on trying to get his sorted out... so much for homeowork....:wall-an: :wall-an:
It was a router issue and not a DNS issue and after 3+ hours with 4 different techs, I finally went out and bought a different router as not one of them could sort out the problem and I was getting just too frustrated. Seems the router blocked just this site address and no others so I'm not sure (and neither were the techs..I think I may have traveled around the world today via tech support!) what happened....
So I just went out and bought a different brand of router, installed it, an no problems...Eureka...I have my ph.ca fix again!
Thanks for all your suggestions and help everyone!
I'm so glad that's over...I need a friggin drink!
