For some reason I was thinking about how long I've been shooting with DSLR's and it's been three years and four days. This was the first image I had the courage to upload back in 2006 and It was day one at deer lake with a camera. LOL...It was an Olympus E-500 and everything was set to auto :D It took at least a month to start trying the manual settings. Three years passed ( felt like eight for some reason) and it's wild for me to look at my work then and now:)

Nostalgia

PS...I remember now why I was thinking about day one, I was just notified that three of my images are to be published in a new book. The book is about divorce, or one mans experiences with but I'm happy I got some stuff published :) This is the book...LINK (https://www.winepressbooks.com/product.asp?pid=2117&search=divorce&select=Keywords&ss=1)

You had an eye for composition back then too M! Is your manual work much better though? :)

Congrats on the book!

No MA...Manual just gives one the feeling of control. I'm going back to full auto in the new year.

The rest of us might a chance against your photography if you do ;)

I have just no comeback for that MA but am feeding it through the Aussie sarcasm data banks for known angles :D

You and John Cleese
He's an amateur ... he needs a script writer :)

Wow time is flying fast......I agree with MA, you always had the eye for composition, now it's just more refined.

I like this shot. But I also agree that your current work is stunning.

in our family sarcasm is a genetic trait. The spouses run for cover when we all get together. but I don't think that MA was being sarcastic here.

Probably just trying to lull you into a false sense of security. ;)

congrats on the book MAW! can we see the pictures?

No problem Bambi. The author of the book asked if he could use three from my photo blog and I agreed as long as he gave me credit in the book. Those were his choices. I just got an email from him, he's mailing me a copy...Cool:)

Nice ... I've done that before in past also .... allowed photos to be used for various outdoor activity magazines for only photo credit. I like that last shot M ... it's very well done.

I agree that you've always had a photographer's eye. Manual or automatic, that first shot is pretty good.
