I like how the processing turned out in this image, but I'm not so sure about the ferns...they were moving in the wind and unfortunately I had to capture the movement in order to get the softness in the creek. The creek works but the ferns distract me a bit...any thoughts? :)

I agree that the ferns are a bit distracting. It's the ones on the right that bug me the most. What if you cropped them out?
or photoshopped a bunny in there? then you could be on that blog. :p
I love the water and the log though.

Thanks B...That's what I thought too. My eye goes right to them every time...damn! :wall-an:
Although a bunny would be funny! :highfive:
I too find them a bit of a distraction. If you can, I move twigs and things and place a rock over them till I'm dont shooting then let them get back up afterwards or try to get them out all together. The hard part of trying to get htat shlow shutter speed with any wind out! Seems to happen everytime for me

LOL...in order to do that Kat I would have to book another flight back to Victoria....:p Unfortunately, I got what I got but ahhh well I have many others, I just really liked the water on this one and I'm lousy at PS removal.
I really had to do some bushwacking/mud stomping/rotten log climbing to get this close!
Thanks though! :highfive:

I love the ferns and often shoot through such foilage to show the flora around the scene.

Do you need a sherpa, I work for photo opps.
Lovely water shot Casil. Pity about the fern. If I had noticed it I would have held it out of the shot. I am not averse to modifying scene slightly to make a shot better, ie move a leaf, or even snap off a dead twig.

I like it, but then I like to try and capture scenes in nature the way the Mother made them.
