Came across this and was not aware this was possible to do this with such ease, a great tip on how to get a photo and remove crowds without a lot of work. Let me know what you think, I found it to be a great tutorial.

It has loads of applications and of course is great at touristy spots!

Definitely a fast effective approach, but it is predicated on shooting in a location where despite crowds, there is a lot of movement. If anyone stayed in their location during the multiple shots they would still be in the final shot.

A good point tegan. But even given that point, still easier to clone out 1-2 people as opposed to many.

It does have some limitations but overall I think it is a great technique.
