If you do enjoy these pics, what version best?

Yes I enjoy these. I love them both. the muted colours in the first appeal to me. The b&w has a lovely simplicity too. So don't make me choose! :cry-an:

Actually ... it's rare for me to choose a B&W over a colour shot.

Hey Mad. B&W tells the true story without the distraction colour evokes.

And at the same hides a story that colour tells us.

I agree with this completely!

Mad, it is my humble opinion that colour is just story embelisment. And as my wife will tell you I am always :rolleyes:right !

A black and white of a colour scene is hardly embellished ... it's the opposite in fact ... it's hiding something.
But don't get me wrong ... I appreciate a good B&W photo very much. I just nominated one and I don't ever remember doing that before. Sometimes hiding the colour does indeed allow the underlying textures through, or somehow places the photos in a period it was supposed to portray.

Mad, perhaps B&W suits my personality as I am not very outgoing! It's just personal preference I guess - jimmy

One thing about B&W Jimmy ... I'm the last person around here to claim to be an expert at it. I'm ****e at it in fact. :) Not really sure why that is. I know I don't have a passion for it so perhaps that's all there is to it. I'm not sure. Maybe it makes me a good judge of them as well seeing as it's takes a lot to impress me in B&W? Again, not sure.

Not very outgoing huh Jimmy? If you didn't say it ... not a soul here would have guessed ;)

Let's call it a draw Mad. All I know is B&W is compelling for me. Hey it's 11:25 pm and I have to get some sleep. Good night - jimmy
