Shot these with a couple of friends on Sunday at Oka Park In Quebec. Kind of a stroll, chat and shoot thing. I REALLY wanted it to snow so we could have fresh snow on the trees but no such luck. So instead, as we walked along the frozen shoreline I saw all these ice formations that I shot along our walk from low perspectives. Feel free to C&C Thx! - Marko

The first one I'm seeing a lot of noise.

I also see lots of lines from the ridges that really make the eye wander around the photo so that's nice.

I like the DOF and clarity in #2, not to mention the composition you choose which forces the eye to follow the little stream through the photo.

The 3rd shot looks almost desolate. The obvious rule of thirds composition here works well.

Beautiful winter landscapes...#2 gets the vote as my fave with #3 a close second. :)
Winter is such a great season for shooting.

All nice shots but the 2nd is a standout.

yes definitely less noisy in the first one. I like them all.
#1 looks like a glacier
#2 nifty composition and contrast
#3 looks like a barren wasteland (in a good way if you know what I mean)

Nice Marko!

Very nice images, Marko. I am kinda hating shooting in winter... I find the snow in the city is dirty and I don't really feel like driving too much in the country when it's messy out. :(

hey come this way!! It's not quite so dingy as the snow in Halifax.

I think the colour version has introduced too much noise now. The B&W seems to hide that better.

sigh...yeah i saw that too...Not entirely sure why though..true I did underexpose a bit to save highlight detail, but it's considerably noisier on upload and it's the same filesize

have you tried some noise reduction software on it to see it helps?
