Hello,
I am new to forums, So i would like some help.

I am an amatuer photographer from Devon, England. I would like to class myself as a "Fine Art Photographer"...Do you think I am worthy of this title?

I currently use Etsy to display and sell my work from, To date I have sold five of my prints. Of which I am very pleased, but could do with more sales !

Can you please give me some guidance and critique on my work, am I going down the right road, Do I need to change anything, what do you think of my style ? any advice you can give would be appreciated.

Advice on good places to advertise would also be great.

To veiw my work go to:

Look forward to hearing from you.

Much must depend on whom you hope will buy your work. Personally looking at the flute if that was hanging on my wall I would be irritated that I can't see detail. The Cafe Alf Resco at first glance looks good but as you open to bigger scale it looks like the sort of pictures I would take of my wife's embroidery and I would want embroidery on wall not a picture of it.

However if I was walking through the local hospital or library and the same pictures were on the wall I would stop and look and find them of interest.

I have noted my mother who has painted for many years can display her work in local library in Flint year after year with no sales. But put same work in Prestatyn library with rest of elite 57 group and she will have 4 or 5 sell.

Looking at your meta data I am sure anyone interested in the Gretsch Guitar will find your site. Not so sure about people looking for other work.

I would not be likely to do google for fine art. However may do google for photos of Cornwell. Seeing the photo of mushroom in local craft shop I may be interested but can't see me doing a google for picture of mushroom.

Will be interesting to see what others think. But unless world class photos no good advertising world wide. Look as some of other photos on here and ask yourself if you are world class? I am not and so if I wanted to sell I would be looking at getting them into some public buildings local.

First off, welcome to the forum.

Secondly, it's hard to critique an entire body of work, at least it is for me.

I, personally, am not a huge fan of heavily processed photos. I kind of like my photos to be more realistic. Many of your images are OK though I do find you lose a lot of detail in the darks. Maybe that's what you want. After all you entitle it "My vision...". If others like that vision and want to buy those prints then you've found your market. Exploit that and be yourself if that's what you enjoy and you are happy with your images.

If, on the other hand, you are not happy with your artwork then post something you feel could be done better and get a critique on it, one photo at a time. It's easier to take in the critiques and do something about it one at a time.

In the end, it's your art. You have to do what makes you happy, not what makes me happy.
