OK Toyota was dragged in front of congress will GM (http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/reuters/100302/n_top_news/cnews_us_gm_recall). I don't think so, Toyota doesn't have the politicians in their back pocket like Detroit does.

Can I meantion that most of Europe finds all this commotion about Toyota completely ridiculous. If you accelerator gets stuck, the first thing you do is press the clutch. Or put it in N, if you've got an auto. That isn't exactly rocket science. If you manage to get yourself hurt by "unintentional acceleration", it isn't the car. It just you not knowing how to drive. Besides, a prius only accelerates fast if you drive it down a cliff...

You have to remember that it is the lawyers in the US that figure stupidity should be rewarded, just think of the law suits in the States like the famous Liebeck vs McDonald's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liebeck_v._McDonald's_Restaurants). I guess when you're 79 years old you should not be expected to know that fresh coffee is hot.
