Wires...

I'm not sure if this works...I quite like it but not sure if others would so I'm posting it here for feedback. I always liked the jumble of wires on the glass frontage this building as a bit of an abstract. I decided to throw it in to some heavy post to see what I could eliminate in the BG and to bring up more of the things I wanted and less of the things I don't. This is the result.
Give it to me straight Docs! :D

Uhh ... ok, it's the critiques thread, right? Well, first at all: I like the abstractness of the wire jungle too - that was the easy part ;-).

But... - I am missing a bit more details from the ropes and the pictures seems to be too dark. Sorry, just my :twocents:. Maybe you can work over it with PS?

Ahhhh - I was too quick: See just the second photo: This is just so much better - love the lights and here and the better to see details! Really, the second one is much, much better!

This one is "just wires" for me. I can see why your eye was attracted to it but their patterns aren't strong enough for me.

I have to agree with Marko. My eyes just keep darting around the picture.

I think it's the bright lights behind the wires, which attract the eyes, and keep the wires from playing the part that you probably had in mind for them.

That's also probably the reason for the color picture to be a little more interesting, because it also offers color interest not just the high contrast points of the lights in the backround.

If you can't go back there I would just try cloning the lights out as an experiment and see wether that gets you anywhere.

Thanks...it's a few blocks away so I can go back for a reshoot ...just hard because ya never know how security will react. Justice Alberta Government department has it's office here so I am especially reticent about shooting directly into the building...especially with all the cops I've seen coming and going. I took this on a Friday evening so that's why I think I was able to get away with it. ;)

Hi Lisa. I quite like your version. You never please everyone and I probably would make the bright lights more prominent. I do like that patch of blue in the original too. I did my own little edit, I hope you don't mind. I will post it if you give me the OK, though you may dislike it ! - jimmy :)
