Made an Inukshuk with creek rocks (my first one) and took photos of it:

Terrific. Dramatic compositions and color. I especially like the last one, although the formation appears to have a halo.

How's this...the thing is it's either halo and cloud detail or no halo and boring cloud detail... personally I dig the cloud detail...I think it makes the photo. ...Lightroom Sliders won't let me have both. :)

Darn sliders!! still, I really like that last one. I prefer it dialed down a bit, but the composition and the elements of the photo are really harmonious.

I didn't know they had a name! I come across them from time to time along the path. Don't know if the builder calls them that, or if they're just piling rocks for fun.

Still looking cold and desolate out there Casil. I like the 1st shot and the B&W rock pile too.

Thanks for the links, Casil. None of the ones I've seen have looked like a person, so it'd be the rock balancing. I haven't seen any lately, but that might change once rafting season starts.
