Found a wasp, which wasn't moving all the time as usually.

YELLOW-LEGGED PAPER WASP (Mischocyttarus flavitarsus)

Cool Macros. Was this guy dead, or just very cooperative?

That front on shot is a ripper for sure! The side one shot with the dark background is also noteworthy.

Thanks AntZ and MA.
Wasp wasn't dead, just nibbling around and made funny movements with its front legs. I thought it was dying, but it took off very quick after it finished, whatever it was doing.

It may have been to cool for him to be very energetic. Wasps are quite docile in cool weather they come to life in warm weather or when the sunlight strikes them directly. These are really nice macros

I don't see them around most of the time, but I find their nests and sets of cells that were in tree cavities all the time. And this is as close as I want to get to one that's alive, if it's not as docile as yours. Neat set of photos.

Thanks for comments everybody. :)
@QuietOne, the only time I am afraid of them, is when there is muggy weather before a thunderstorm, when they are always around the head and very annoying.

Yes. That last shot is quite spectacular. What macro lens are you using. It really does create a spending urge.

Thanks Marko and Jjeling.
I'm using the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro Lens on my 40D and 36 mm Kenko tube. Additionally the MR-14EX Ring Lite.
