OK so I look out my window this morning and there appear to be good clouds. So I head out East of the city to see if anything will happen. This is the location I pick to shoot from.

Nice clouds on the horizon I know sunrise is only 15 minutes away so I don't want to be in the car when the clouds light up. This is as good as it gets.

So the sun starts to make it's self visible above the clouds just north of this shot. Time to admit defeat and go home. I go over the rise and see the mountains are in mirage making them tower over the city and the red is just fading from them :wall-an: went the wrong way once again. Too many power-lines towers etc to get a good shot. So 5 minutes from where I was shooting I look in the review mirror and what do I see.

The cloud I had been shooting just lit up not with colour but an excellent hightlight. :headslap: Don't leave you chosen site till you are sure it is over.

I'll remember this advice ... in an hours time when I'm down by the shipwreck with Chantelle to catch sunrise ;)
