Well this is a huge break for me. I was at my new gallery yesterday and they wanted to talk to me about putting on a solo show at the gallery. I was stunned, to put it mildly. Now I have to raid my other gallery to get enough work to put on a solo show. I am so glad I have been doing some shooting lately or I would be screwed on having enough work to fill a gallery. Not sure of the date yet but they are thinking of getting me to do it during the month of the photo festival Contact. It will be heavily advertised through out North America.

I also found out some interesting things on why I was chosen. The Curator was at dinner and he mentioned my name to his date and much to his surprise and mine now lol, his date knew who I was and what my work was and she described what my work looked like and what I was partial to shoot. He then told me he had a dream that he was going to sign me that night. Seems these odd things always happen to me for some reason. Once I brought in samples of my photography he was sold and the Owner who rarely these days gets involved at this point in his life was shown my photos and he said to sign me as soon as they could.

They are also going to pay for two of my photos to be blown up to 36" wide by whatever height it ends up and both photos will tour other galleries. It is nice that how I shoot is unique enough that people whom I have never met know my work and that I am actually known. It is an ego boost, I was egotistical before this is not going to help lmaooo. They gave me a tour of what they have for sale and they sell work from over a million dollars to lowly me. I was also informed I am asking too little, so I need to up my prices and this is going to be hard since I am stunned I get what I am currently.

I was happy when I was picked up by my first gallery but the new one is on whole different level in the Art World. They have started the careers of many well known Canadian and International artists, hope I end up being one of them. If not I do not really care to be signed by a gallery of this calibre exceeds all my expectations I ever had, considering I had none lmaooo.

First thanks all. Well went with the Curator at the new Gallery today to pick up the invites that are being sent out tomorrow. They are sending out a 1,000 invites tomorrow and they are being sent to Art Dealers, Buyers and Collectors. I am doing the show for the entire month of May to coincide with the Contact Photo festival that Toronto has every year. Since 2 million people come to the city in the month of May for the Contact Photo Festival seems like a perfect time to me and them to do the show. It is very short notice for a show but no reason to delay is what they think and I agree of course lol.

This is the fastest they have ever had a show planned on such short notice but they are taking a risk on giving me the entire gallery for someone relatively unknown and I know they are so I better get my best work printed and framed by the the end of this week so they have time to plan the show. I should be working on them now but was out all morning at the gallery talking about the show and picking up the invites. Spent Saturday morning picking out a photo for the invites and then that afternoon and all Sunday writing up my artist C.V. which is still not done but need to relax a before I get back to getting this all done. I now have two galleries I am showing work for at the Contact festival and my solo show, just hope I have enough work I am happy with to meet all my obligations. It is pretty stressful but if I have to put me and my work out there now is as good as anytime I suppose but it could be a make or break show. I need to do well or they may not risk another solo show with me again.

I wouldn't worry much, they liked your work enough for a solo show in the first place. Deep breath, relax it will turn out great! :)
