At 6am this morning I was back up Mt Nebo with my wife, a friend, and our mountain bikes. I also took my DSLR with the wide angle lens on it, something I never do while mountain biking.

The ride was a tough one. We were to (and did) descend into the valley behind me as we look at this shot down to the Lake Manchester area and then tackle the 10.2 km climb back out to Mt Nebo again. A very tough ride with long sections at 25 - 30% gradient.

Not somewhere I venture if I think the weather will turn too foul. Hypothermia is nobody's friend. So we waited to see if the sun would bring a better outlook and while we waited I took photos.

Here's one of the first I got ... (just realized I didn't level the horizon :headslap: ) ...

Sorry I like it just the way it is. Beautiful. Doesn't seem to have Autumn look have I got timing wrong or is it late this year?

We really don't get an autumn here ... we have very few deciduous trees.

Very nice photo, M.A. Good to see that you sometimes hold your camera a bit awry too!

Thanks JAS.
I hold it awry a lot! I just usually remember to fix it in post. Big day yesterday, I'll blame that.

Thanks Kat. I almost did a couple of years ago in this same area ... took over 5 hours in a tracksuit, under a blanket and in front of a heater before I started feeling warm again. It wasn't even winter, it was spring, and our springs are warm.

I've got some shots from up there, but nothing like this. A bit of rain, cloud and sunrise makes all the difference. The rain especially is cool.
