A little stroll through the Halifax Public Garden's this morning after last night's rain netted me these today:

Iggy, these are stunning. I am thinking that I need to get a 50mm prime! Not that it's the lens, but I love what you are able to do with it!!

not sure which one is my favourite. I will have to think on it. but I love how sharp the focus is and the dof is perfect.

Whatever it is you've changed about your photography lately Iggy ... keep doing it. You are another one that seems to have lifted your game suddenly to a new level.

I have to agree with MA. I've seen a jump in many memebers as of late.

LOVE that sedcond one!

Thanks, everyone. One of the big differences, for me, is that I'm not relying on the camera to focus for me. That's the only technical thing that I think I've changed.

In any case, I certainly appreciate the wonderful comments.

Maybe having to manually focus has somehow advanced your compositions as well because they also seem to be more consistently better to my eye.

Hey Iggy - Just came back to this one (shot 2). It's friggen awesome.
Since you are OK w/critique in any area all this needs imo is a wee bit more contrast on the flower. Then slap a frame on it. I do believe it's in your top 3.

best! marko

Thanks, Marko. Appreciated! :)

I'll have to keep a closer eye to contrast, this is the second one you've noted. Next time I have some edit time I'll fiddle a bit more and maybe generate 3 or 4 for comparison. Cheers!

PS: There's already a frame on this one ;)

Cool - It COULD just be a monitor thing...but the shot is good enough that I wanted to make sure you knew it was a winner....
