This has been a "Personal Project" of mine ever since getting into Portraiture.
It came from the study of Alfred Steglitz and the portraits he did of his wife Georgia Okeefe.

Crystal, Pretty simple set up. Main Softbox camera right at a 45% angle, back edge at his shoulders and then feathered. Two strip lights in the background on each side. Reflector on camera left.

Great shot Ernst...May I ask what lens you used and subject distance to BG?

Richard, In my opinion Alfred Steglitz is the most important person in American Art History. And not just becuase he himself was a photographer.

Michael, I pretty much use a 28-70 f2.8 in my studio and pretty much keep it at the 70mm postion. The subject is about 4 ft from the backdrop.
