I am thinking about getting some lighting and starting a very small portable system. I have looked at the Cyber Sync and the Pocket Wizard, I like what everyone says about the Pocket Wizards, I am not to happy with the price. The Cyber Sync I have not heard to much about.

My question is does anyone have a Cyber Sync system or has tried them?

Am I better going to the PW??

I would really like to thank everyone for all of your input, This site is awesome!!!

I think Spring is here now, Get Shooting Canada !!!!

Hopefully someone here can help you with this one. Alas, it's not me. I'm kinda thin on the accessories :(

I know what you mean about the prices of radio poppers...

I was looking on ebay at the pixel knight radio transmitters and receiver for just over £100. Wireless ETTL over Radio. Might be worth a look?

going wireless is definately a bonus. try ebay they have some amazing deals. I have seen full lighting kits with strobes( 3 strobes + barn door w/ gels, umbrellas and 2 soft boxes and wireless triggers ) anywhere from $309.00-$440.00. The seller is canadian, however for the price i think it is made in china.

I've heard good things about the CyberSyncs
Here's a review I read:
My AlienBees CyberSync officially unofficial review - Digital Camera Resource Page Forums (http://www.dcresource.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40996)

The nice thing is that they are affordable!

I can give you my personal experience with cybersynchs. They are great!!!
I did an event and my strobes were in the balcony. I was probably 100 ft away and they fire no problem. No problems firingin outdoors in bright sun.

So here is the magic that the PW's have. You can adjust the power right from the PW's. At least that is what I understand.

I use my cybersynchs a lot.
