I spent a good amount of time doing post work on this shot. I used Gimp and 3 layers to do it, the background layer is the the contrast layer with all of the red desaturated, the second layer is burned over the background with brightness adjusted, and the third layer was sharpend,colour enhanced then overlayed with a grain merge at 50% opacity. There is probobly an eaiser way to do it, but i was simply experimenting.

I think it turned out really well, the stairs are a little blue, but i like it i think it adds to the mood of the shot. But ididnt post this to find out what i think, i wanna know what you think lol

I like the way this came out overall.

I like the blue stairs a lot!- the face/arms are too red for me though and the face might be able to take a bit more sharpening.

For sure, but given the circumstances, I don't think much better could be without some serious lighting gear. Hmmm... couple, three Alien Bees, one big-@$$ soft-box, and maybe a snoot to light the underside of the board...
