I had a dinner party the other night with some friends and bought these gorgeous football Mums for the table. Figured they were worth a photo shoot before they got too ratty. :)

Thought I would also try a border for a change as well.

Nice! Like the frame as well. Optical illusion is a weird thing, I'd have sworn the left white border is bigger than the one at the right, but my onscreen pixel ruler showed it (obviously) isn't :)

Great shot, Casil; I love the way the image gets soft towards the ledft and the bokeh of the second mum behind the main one. Well done!

:1st: I love it! I love everything about this..Okay...no technical talk from this newbie..I just love it. I admire your work..no..envy is really the word. I wish that I still lived in Red Deer, I would be self-inviting myself to your dinner parties/photo-shoots/whatever just to get advice. I have been trying to do some border effects like that all day (insert sigh). You make it all look so easy (another sigh).

Thanks Saltair. Those are very humbling and incredibly kind kudos.:grouphug:

If you lived in Redeer ....or heck if I still lived in Victoria, you would be more than welcome to come with anytime to both the dinner parties and the photo trips. And, next time I am out in Vic' visiting the family, I can look you up if you like... and we can head out shooting. My folks live right on the edge of the Royal Roads greenspace where there is a massive amount of untouched old growth forest. When I get out there it is one of my favorite places to go shooting and get lost in the massive trees and the untouched beauty for the better part of a morning. I have a few other fave spots I like to go when I am out there as well.. a few wicked neat waterfalls not to many people know about that me and my dad have found together while out on walks.Buit I gotta say, the morning sunlight coming in on the massive red cedars in Royal Roads forest is incredible. :highfive:
If you ever get out the Alberta way, let me know too. :)

Oh and for the borders I've been using Picnic in Flickr. Easy to do. I can't cough up any more $$ right now for a better border plug in for LR.

I mucked around with this mum as well in Silver Efex and more border play. :)
