I love the simplicity of this. I wouldn't have thought that b&w would work here because I love the colour of gerberas, but it totally does :thumbup:

Incredible image, well done. I especially like the little backlight on the second Gerbera down. Very onpressive. Thanks for sharing this one.

My dad always said to me: anyone can shoot in colour and it will be somewhat nice, but only true artists shoot in black and white. Mind you, that was 40 years ago. But I think he had a point!

Matt, I think what your father said is still largely true even today. For the traditionalists that choose to shoot in B&W film it takes extra effort as it becomes more rare and thus they are basically now artisans and artists preserving the old methods in many ways. For the digitalists, converting to B&W takes effort and thought, and it certainly makes me think about my lighting more carefully, (Something that still needs a lot of work!)
