On vacation I don't usually get up before the sun, but in Paso Robles I made an exception. I had an idea of where I wanted to go, but didn't have an exact vineyard in mind. The sky was unspectacular, but the light was pretty great.

My small tripod wasn't the best tool for this job, but it was all I had so I made do. Used a graduated ND filter as well. The sun hadn't risen yet for all these shots.

Mmmmmmmmmmm, love the second shot, WD. Love the play of all the differnet hues of green waking up not at the same time, but after one another. While the wine is up and running, the tree is still sleepy and drowsy.

Incredible shot, true eye candy.

Thanks Matt. The way the light seemed concentrated in the grape leaves was really magical and I was so worried it wouldn't come across at all. I kept looking at live view and shaking my head, wondering.

I agree with the above comments: that second shot is spectacular. Thanks for sharing.

They are all nicely executed, but I keep going back to first one. I like the way the land rolls from right to left and that brings the eye to the hills in the background.
