I can't afford a macro lens right now, having just blown my budget on speed lights...
...Anyway I shot this using the way cheaper alternative... ...closeup lenses. I got my set of 4 from ebay. This was hand held using a +4 on a 55-250mm lens. The focus plane is tiny, the optics horrible, and there is ghastly chromatic aberration everywhere, but still for £9.99 I can't complain to much. At least the speed-light let me push the aperture to f/22.
